Our state-of-the-art hospital laboratory is equipped with advanced technology and skilled medical professionals, ready to tackle varied diagnostic tests at any time of the day.

We house a broad range of in-house testing capabilities, including but not limited to blood chemistry panels, cardiac enzymes, blood gasses, blood bank, coagulation, hematology, urinalysis, and limited microbiology. Each of these tests plays a critical role in overall health management and provides crucial information that helps detect, diagnose, and monitor diseases.

Our relationship with Regional West in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, strengthens our laboratory services. As our reference laboratory, we coordinate with them for specific tests and procedures to ensure a seamless and efficient process.

Ordering Tests

We believe in patient-centric healthcare. As such, we require physician's orders for all diagnostic tests to ensure every test is necessary and contributes to the patient's healthcare plan.

However, we understand that medical needs can arise at any time, so we don't necessitate appointments for most laboratory services during our business hours. Simply register at the hospital business office before coming to the laboratory.

Types of In-House Tests We Offer

We offer a comprehensive range of in-house laboratory tests to ensure that you receive timely and accurate diagnoses.

Blood Chemistry Panels: This service analyzes different chemicals in the blood and provides valuable information about the function of the organs in your body. The results can help detect a wide range of health conditions, such as liver disease, kidney disease, and diabetes.

Cardiac Enzymes: This test measures the levels of enzymes and proteins that are linked with heart injury. It's commonly used to diagnose heart attacks and other cardiac conditions.

Blood Gases: Blood gas tests assess how well your lungs move oxygen into your bloodstream and remove carbon dioxide. These tests are crucial in managing respiratory diseases and conditions.

Blood Bank: Our in-house blood bank ensures a reliable supply of blood for transfusions. We carefully test each donation to protect recipients from potential complications.

Coagulation: Coagulation tests measure how well your blood clots and can help diagnose conditions like hemophilia and thrombosis. It's also crucial in managing anticoagulant medications.

Hematology: Hematology tests analyze different components of the blood, including red and white blood cells and platelets. These tests are vital for diagnosing and monitoring blood disorders like anemia, leukemia, and hemophilia.

Urinalysis: This is a simple test that analyzes the content of urine for diagnosing and managing conditions such as urinary tract infections, kidney disease, and diabetes.

Limited Microbiology: Our microbiology service identifies bacteria and other microorganisms causing infections. While the range is limited, we cover many common tests, with more complex cases referred to specialized laboratories.

Our robust selection of in-house and reference lab tests allows us to promptly diagnose and treat a wide array of health conditions, ensuring that you receive the care you need when you need it the most.

Hours of Operation

Our Laboratory Services operate from Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. But we recognize that emergencies don't keep office hours. That's why a medical technologist is always on-call, ready to provide assistance 24/7.

The Importance of Laboratory Tests

We aim to empower patients with knowledge about the importance of laboratory tests. These tests are not just for those who are ill - they are essential preventative measures.

The results of laboratory tests often identify the presence of disease in its earliest stages, when treatment is most effective and least costly. Therefore, we recommend having your blood checked even in your 30s and 40s. It's a small step towards proactive health management that can make a significant difference.
