Kimball Health Services Financial Assistance Program

Providing healthcare to those who cannot afford to pay is part of our mission at Kimball Health Services. Based on family size and income, you may qualify for free or discounted care, even if you have health insurance.

If you anticipate difficulties in paying, please discuss it with us. When possible, we encourage you to ask for financial assistance before receiving medical care.

What Our Program Covers

We provide free care along with financial assistance or charity care to eligible patients who require emergency and other appropriate hospital-based services. No eligible patient will be charged more than what is generally billed to patients with insurance.

KHS Standard Charges

In an effort to comply with Section 2718(e) of the Affordable Care Act, Kimball Health Services has made standard charges for items and services received in the hospital setting publicly available and in a machine-readable format.

Pricing for items and services in this file may not always reflect current pricing and is not suitable for the purposes of estimating patient liability.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the box at the top of my statement for "Account #" have the word GUARANTOR in it?

The word “GUARANTOR” is displayed in the Account # box when you are responsible for more than one account.

Where can I find the account number on my statement?

The account number is in the description section next to the patient’s name.

Why do I have so many account numbers?

Each time you visit Kimball Health Services, including each clinic visit, you are assigned a unique account number for that visit.

How long will it take for my payment to post to my account?

It may take 3 to 5 days for payments to post. If the payment does not appear after five business days, contact Patient Financial Services at (855) 204-6368.

Or you can visit the Patient Financial Services office at:

255 W 4th Street

Where do I go for billing questions?

Contact Patient Financial Services at (855) 204 - 6368 or visit us in person at our office located at:

Can I apply for financial assistance?

Yes, call our Patient Financial Services offices at (308) 235-1990 for more information on financial assistance options.

I only visited the hospital once, why am I receiving bills from other organizations?

You may receive billing statements from other entities, such as Advanced Medical Imaging or some of our specialty clinic providers’ offices, that are a result of your visit to our hospital.

These providers have their own billing and accounting procedures. If you receive a bill from them and have questions, please contact them directly.

Why do I have more than one bill?

We have separate billing systems for clinic and hospital services, which may result in multiple bills if you were both at the hospital and the clinic for services on the same day.

If you have Medicare or Medicaid insurance coverage, both programs require us to bill all lab tests performed in the clinic through our hospital billing system. That means if you were at the clinic for services and had a lab test done, you will receive two different bills for that visit.

Why did my insurance send me two EOBs?

For certain services, we must bill most insurances on a hospital claim for facility services and a doctor claim for the physician who evaluated and treated you, resulting in two claims and two subsequent EOBs.
