Family Medicine

Primary care forms the foundation for your healthcare needs, providing preventive care and addressing illnesses before they become severe. Ensuring adults and children receive regular check-ups and immunizations plays a critical role in disease prevention and overall health maintenance.

When you visit a primary care provider, you're not only seeking treatment for current health issues but also establishing a relationship that's focused on long-term health.

Our Family Medicine Providers:

Comprehensive Adult and Pediatric Well Care

Routine healthcare is the cornerstone of long-term well-being. Annual check-ups act like a compass for your health, guiding you and your children toward a healthier future.

The most effective way to tackle health issues is to catch them early or, even better, prevent them from occurring. Well Care is about more than treating symptoms. It helps identify potential problems before they escalate, securing your health proactively.

Well Care checks are more than just a physical health check. They are a comprehensive evaluation of your health status. For children, monitoring their growth and development through regular pediatric visits helps build the foundations of a strong and healthy life for your child.

Annual Check-Ups for Adults

Annual physical exams for adults are your personalized health check. These visits dive deep into your well-being, evaluating your overall health and assessing your individual risk factors.

This is your time to discuss your health goals, concerns, and questions with your healthcare provider. During your annual check-up, your healthcare provider will usually perform a series of health screenings tailored to your specific needs. This can include:

  • Blood pressure checks
  • Cholesterol tests
  • Blood sugar tests
  • Vision and hearing tests
  • Complete blood count (CBC)
  • Thyroid function test
  • Urine analysis
  • And more

These visits are your chance to catch potential health issues early, often before they become symptomatic. It is an essential part of preventive healthcare.

Immunizations

Immunizations are a crucial component of preventive healthcare, providing protection against various infectious diseases. Kimball Health Services offers comprehensive vaccination services for all age groups.

We follow the recommended vaccination schedules for both adults and children. These schedules are tailored to age, medical history, and individual risk factors.

Immunizations also play an essential role in public health. They not only shield individuals from serious illnesses but also contribute to community immunity, protecting those who cannot receive vaccines.

Our commitment to immunization is a commitment to a healthier future for all.

Medicare Annual Wellness Exam

The Medicare Annual Wellness exam is a valuable preventive service designed for those who have had Medicare Part B for over a year. This visit allows you to update your personalized prevention plan based on your health status and risk factors. Unlike a physical exam, it focuses on assessing your overall health, reviewing your medical history, and developing strategies to manage or prevent health issues. It’s important to note that this visit does not cover any diagnostic testing, such as lab draws or imaging or medication refills; if these services are needed, they should be scheduled as a regular clinic exam. Eligibility requires that your first visit occurs at least 12 months after your Part B enrollment or any "Welcome to Medicare" visit, though the latter is not necessary to qualify. For traditional Medicare plans, there is no cost to you, and the Part B deductible does not apply. However, you may need to pay coinsurance for any additional tests or services not covered under this benefit. This visit plays a crucial role in promoting long-term health and ensuring you receive the preventive care necessary to maintain your well-being.

The "Welcome to Medicare" exam, covered by Medicare Part B, is a crucial preventive visit available to individuals within the first 12 months of their Part B enrollment. This visit is distinct from a physical exam and focuses on assessing your overall health and providing guidance for future care. It’s important to note that this visit does not cover any diagnostic testing, such as lab draws or imaging or medication refills; if these services are needed, they should be scheduled as a regular clinic exam. During the exam, you'll review your medical and social history, receive information on preventive services, screenings, and vaccines, and undergo measurements of height, weight, and blood pressure. The visit also includes calculating your body mass index (BMI), a simple vision test, and a risk assessment for depression, along with a discussion of advance directives. You'll leave with a written plan for recommended screenings and preventive services. There is no charge for the exam if you have traditional Medicare and the Part B deductible does not apply. However, you may incur coinsurance or full costs for any additional tests or services not covered by Medicare. For a smooth visit, be sure to bring your medical records, including immunization history, family health history, and a list of current medications, vitamins, and supplements.

Sleep Issues

Sleep issues or sleep disorders cause changes in your sleep duration, patterns, and quality of sleep. Sleep disorders can leave you feeling tired and without energy even after a regular night’s rest.

Sleep disorders constitute a spectrum of conditions that disrupt regular sleep patterns, whether stemming from underlying health issues or heightened stress levels.

In the United States alone, over one-third of adults claim they get less than 7 hours of sleep within a 24-hour cycle.

While occasional sleep disturbances are commonplace, persistent disruptions that affect your daily life may indicate a sleeping disorder. The impact of insufficient sleep extends to compromised energy levels, mood alterations, diminished concentration, and overall health deterioration.

Resolving the primary issue through appropriate treatment can often alleviate sleep-related challenges in cases where sleep issues may indicate an underlying medical or mental health condition.

At Kimball Health Services, we recognize that prompt diagnosis and intervention are important when dealing with sleep disorders. This is because these conditions have the potential to impact professional performance, strain relationships, and impede the ability to engage in routine activities.

Sinusitis

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), sinusitis impacts about 11.9% of adult Americans annually.

Sinusitis manifests as an inflammation of the sinus cavities. When these air-filled spaces connecting to the nose and throat are inflamed, they can disrupt normal mucus drainage and lead to pain and potential infections.

At Kimball Health Services, we provide comprehensive diagnostic and treatment options for sinusitis to guide you toward relief.

Chronic Sore Throat

A chronic sore throat is characterized by pain, scratchiness, or irritation of the throat, which persists for more than ten days. It often becomes more pronounced when swallowing. The most frequent cause of a sore throat (pharyngitis) is a viral infection, such as a cold or flu, which typically resolves on its own.

Acute pharyngitis is more common than chronic pharyngitis, with symptoms usually subsiding within ten days. In contrast, chronic sore throat persists for much longer, often lasting several weeks. Treatment for a chronic sore throat generally focuses on alleviating symptoms until the infection clears.

Chronic sore throat in children can be a troubling and persistent condition, affecting their comfort, health, and overall well-being. At Kimball Health Services, we understand the impact chronic sore throat can have on your child's daily life and development.

Our dedicated team specializes in diagnosing and treating the root causes of chronic sore throat, ensuring comprehensive and compassionate care for your child.
