Primary care forms the foundation for your healthcare needs, providing preventive care and addressing illnesses before they become severe. Ensuring adults and children receive regular check-ups and immunizations plays a critical role in disease prevention and overall health maintenance.
When you visit a primary care provider, you're not only seeking treatment for current health issues but also establishing a relationship that's focused on long-term health.
Our Family Medicine Providers:
Annual physical exams for adults are your personalized health check. These visits dive deep into your well-being, evaluating your overall health and assessing your individual risk factors.
This is your time to discuss your health goals, concerns, and questions with your healthcare provider. During your annual check-up, your healthcare provider will usually perform a series of health screenings tailored to your specific needs. This can include:
- Blood pressure checks
- Cholesterol tests
- Blood sugar tests
- Vision and hearing tests
- Complete blood count (CBC)
- Thyroid function test
- Urine analysis
- And more
These visits are your chance to catch potential health issues early, often before they become symptomatic. It is an essential part of preventive healthcare.
Immunizations are a crucial component of preventive healthcare, providing protection against various infectious diseases. Kimball Health Services offers comprehensive vaccination services for all age groups.
We follow the recommended vaccination schedules for both adults and children. These schedules are tailored to age, medical history, and individual risk factors.
Immunizations also play an essential role in public health. They not only shield individuals from serious illnesses but also contribute to community immunity, protecting those who cannot receive vaccines.
Our commitment to immunization is a commitment to a healthier future for all.
The Medicare Annual Wellness exam is a valuable preventive service designed for those who have had Medicare Part B for over a year. This visit allows you to update your personalized prevention plan based on your health status and risk factors. Unlike a physical exam, it focuses on assessing your overall health, reviewing your medical history, and developing strategies to manage or prevent health issues. It’s important to note that this visit does not cover any diagnostic testing, such as lab draws or imaging or medication refills; if these services are needed, they should be scheduled as a regular clinic exam. Eligibility requires that your first visit occurs at least 12 months after your Part B enrollment or any "Welcome to Medicare" visit, though the latter is not necessary to qualify. For traditional Medicare plans, there is no cost to you, and the Part B deductible does not apply. However, you may need to pay coinsurance for any additional tests or services not covered under this benefit. This visit plays a crucial role in promoting long-term health and ensuring you receive the preventive care necessary to maintain your well-being.
The "Welcome to Medicare" exam, covered by Medicare Part B, is a crucial preventive visit available to individuals within the first 12 months of their Part B enrollment. This visit is distinct from a physical exam and focuses on assessing your overall health and providing guidance for future care. It’s important to note that this visit does not cover any diagnostic testing, such as lab draws or imaging or medication refills; if these services are needed, they should be scheduled as a regular clinic exam. During the exam, you'll review your medical and social history, receive information on preventive services, screenings, and vaccines, and undergo measurements of height, weight, and blood pressure. The visit also includes calculating your body mass index (BMI), a simple vision test, and a risk assessment for depression, along with a discussion of advance directives. You'll leave with a written plan for recommended screenings and preventive services. There is no charge for the exam if you have traditional Medicare and the Part B deductible does not apply. However, you may incur coinsurance or full costs for any additional tests or services not covered by Medicare. For a smooth visit, be sure to bring your medical records, including immunization history, family health history, and a list of current medications, vitamins, and supplements.
