Dr. Zuhlke helped save my pinkie and hand, which are very important to me as an avid rock climber, when I had a staph infection spread rapidly, requiring emergency surgery. He took the time before surgery to explain what had happened and what he'd be doing, and followed up with me multiple times in the hospital to make sure the healing was tracking. Highly recommend!

Dr. Zuhlke went above and beyond taking care of my broken wrist, which was a very complex fracture. He was thorough in explaining everything. He spent extra time during my surgery to make sure my wrist and hand would heal and be fully functional. He gave me exercises right away to start gaining mobility. I highly recommend.

From the very beginning, I was completely satisfied with Dr. Rylander. He mapped out my reverse total shoulder replacement live on his computer, showing me his reasoning for the reverse replacement. Pre-op was efficient and smooth, and the surgery went off without a hitch. I have almost no scar, and I am back to 90% mobility, which is what was expected. I am in my mid 70's and have no ill after effects.
Dr. Rylander is probably one of the best doctors that I have had. I’ve had many, many appointments and a knee surgery with him, and I’ve never had a poor experience. He’s so attentive and really explains things in a way that’s easy to understand. He makes it clear that he’s there for you and listens to any and all concerns. I’m super appreciative of the way he treats me as one of his patients and truly admire his compassion for others!
Our orthopedic experts offer a comprehensive range of services to address a variety of orthopedic & musculoskeletal conditions. This includes:
Yes, whenever possible, we use minimally invasive surgical techniques to promote faster recovery and less pain for our patients.
During your consultation, the doctor will discuss your symptoms and medical history and perform a physical examination. They will then explain your treatment options and answer any questions you may have.
We accept a variety of insurance plans. Please contact our office to verify if we accept your specific plan.
If you suspect a sports injury, the RICE principle (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) is a good first step. Stop the activity immediately, apply ice to the injured area for 15-20 minutes at a time, compress the area with a bandage, and elevate it above your heart.
If the pain is severe, seek medical attention for proper diagnosis and treatment.
Management of arthritis pain can include over-the-counter pain relievers, topical medications, physical therapy to improve joint function and strength, and weight loss if needed.
In some cases, injections or minimally invasive procedures may be recommended. Contact us for an appointment to learn more about your treatment options.
Healing time for fractures varies depending on the severity of the break, the bone involved, and your overall health. Simple fractures may heal within 6-8 weeks, while more complex fractures can take several months.
Your doctor will be able to give you a more specific timeframe based on your individual case.
While everyone recovers at their own pace, most patients experience significant pain relief and improved mobility within weeks of joint replacement surgery.
Formal physical therapy typically begins shortly after surgery to help you regain strength, flexibility, and range of motion in the replaced joint. A full recovery, returning to all your regular activities, can take 3-6 months, depending on the joint replaced and your individual circumstances.
At Kimball Health Services, your orthopedic well-being is our priority. Our board-certified orthopedic surgeons and nursing staff offer a full range of nonsurgical and surgical treatment options for your orthopedic concerns.
