Our Radiology Services

Radiology is a critical component of modern medicine. It allows us to view the structures and functions within your body using various imaging techniques. Below, we discuss our key radiology services available to you.

Digital Radiography (X-Ray)

An X-ray is a valuable tool for looking at structures inside your body. Specifically, it's excellent at visualizing bones. Kimball Health Services uses Digital Radiography, an advanced form of X-ray that uses digital sensors instead of traditional photographic film.

This technology gives us the advantage of immediate image viewing and manipulation, resulting in more precise diagnoses. It's used for many of the same applications as traditional X-rays.

3D Mammograms

3D Mammograms are specialized X-rays of the breast used to detect and diagnose breast cancer. Early detection is a crucial step in effectively treating this disease. We encourage women to schedule regular mammograms as part of their healthcare routine.

To schedule your mammogram, call (308) 235-1951 and ask to speak to our radiology department.

CT Scan

A CT scan combines a series of X-ray images taken from different angles and uses computer processing to create cross-sectional images of the bones, blood vessels, tumors, and soft tissues inside your body.

It provides more detailed information than regular X-rays, making it a valuable tool for diagnosing diseases, planning surgery, or assessing trauma.

Cardiac CT Calcium Score

Cardiac CT calcium score is a specialized CT scan of the heart that measures the calcium buildup in your heart arteries. This crucial information helps determine your risk for cardiovascular disease.

The American College of Cardiology recognizes coronary artery calcification as a critical marker for cardiovascular disease. It helps guide treatment decisions, such as whether cholesterol-lowering statins are necessary. A low or negative calcium score may indicate a reduced need for these medications.

At Kimball Health Services, we are committed to helping you take charge of your heart health. That’s why we offer Cardiac CT calcium score, a simple and efficient scan that takes just 10 minutes and requires no IV or contrast dye.

MRI

MRI uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of the organs and tissues within your body. It can be used to diagnose conditions that affect soft tissues, tendons, ligaments, and other disorders. If you have unexplained pain or a condition that cannot be diagnosed using other imaging methods, an MRI might be the answer.

Bone Density (DEXA)

As we age, our bones may lose density, leading to conditions such as osteoporosis. Our Bone Density (DEXA) test is a quick and painless procedure that measures the calcium and other minerals in a specific section of your bone. This information helps us understand your bone health and potential risk of fractures.

Ultrasound

An ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the inside of your body. It's commonly used during pregnancy but also helps diagnose conditions related to the heart, kidneys, liver, and other organs.

Weekly Mobile Services

For your convenience, we also offer weekly mobile services, including Echocardiograms and Nuclear Medicine.

Echocardiograms

An echocardiogram uses ultrasound waves to produce images of your heart. This allows us to observe the heart's size, structure, and function, aiding in diagnosing various heart conditions.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine uses small amounts of radioactive materials, or radioactive tracers, to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases. It provides unique information about both the structure and function of virtually every major organ system within your body.
